Celebrating Labor Day with a Horseback Ride, ULIVjava, and a New Canary!

I'd love to share my Labor Day with you. It started with a horseback ride organized by my friend, Muffin Dowdle. We started off at her house and then rode through beautiful Ward Pound Ridge Reservation—not far from my farm. With more than 4,000 acres, Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is the largest park in Westchester County.
After our ride, we enjoyed a relaxing lunch and some ULIVjava iced coffee.
After lunch I was treated to a wonderful surprise- a new canary! For the past 16 years, I have raised Red Factor canaries, but on Labor Day, I was introduced to another extraordinary species. Muffin’s friend, canary breeder Frank Bua, gave me a Spanish Timbrado.
First bred in the 1940s and 50s, the Spanish Timbrado is widely regarded for its unique song and appearance. A cross between a wild canary and the songbird of Spain, the Spanish Timbrado has a bright and melodious song and wonderful, wild coloring. These songbirds are often a greenish hue, but also found in cinnamon, yellow, white, or variegated—just like my new canary.
