Attending The 2014 James Beard Foundation Awards
Last week was an especially busy one in New York City, as there were many events taking place night after night. Last Friday, I attended Sounds of The City, the 2014 James Beard Foundation (JBF) Gala for Book, Broadcast & Journalism Awards, held at Gotham Hall. The JBF Awards cover all aspects of the food industry – from chefs and restaurateurs, to cookbook authors and food journalists, to restaurant designers and architects, and so much more. These awards are the highest honor, the Oscars of the food world, if you will, for food and beverage professionals working in North America, and have been presented each year since 1990. My producers and I were very honored to be nominated for my PBS television program, Martha Stewart’s Cooking School.
