Rutger, My Friesian, Had A Dental Checkup
You may recall a blog I posted last month about Rutger, one of my Friesian horses and how he needed a tooth extraction. That procedure went very smoothly and Rutger has been recuperating nicely. Betsy first noticed something was wrong when Rutger developed a bad-smelling nasal discharge, indicating sinusitis. When the sinus becomes infected, it usually means a tooth problem. For some reason, Friesians are prone to dental issues and Rutger is being monitored closely. Last week, Dr. Elizabeth Kilgallon, my large animal veterinarian, paid a visit to my stable and was pleased with Rutger's progress.
