Attending The 2013 Gala Of The American Museum Of Natural History
On a recent November evening, I attended the 2013 Gala of the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in Manhattan. The evening was hosted by Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey and there were other SNL cast members in attendance, including Seth Meyers, who offered a comedic boost at the Christie's auction held at the Gala. The AMNH is, of course, one of the largest and most celebrated museums in the world. The museum complex consists of 27 interconnected buildings that contain more than 32 million specimens of plants, humans, animals, fossils, minerals, rocks, meteorites, and human cultural artifacts. Only a small fraction of these can be displayed at any given time. I absolutely love this museum and cannot wait to spend many happy hours of exploration with my grandchildren, Jude and Truman.
