A Rather Lackluster Autumn

It’s been a while since I shared an around-the-farm blog with you. I was looking through blogs from previous Octobers and at some gorgeous autumn foliage photos that I posted. I wish I could do the same this year, however, we have some issues with the foliage. Hurricane Irene mercilessly stripped trees of considerable leafage. And, because it’s been so damp from record rainfall, many leaves that are remaining have been afflicted with anthracnose fungi. The anthracnose turns leaves brown and causes them to fall prematurely. Consequently, the autumn display in this area of the northeast isn’t too pretty. What’s it like where you live?
