I just love how my home looks this time of year - adorned with festive lights and beautiful ornaments.
Every year, I fill my home with lots of cheerful holiday decorations. In my Winter House, I put up Christmas trees, wreaths, and lots of charming village houses. I like to include a mix of old favorites as well as new, including items from craft projects featured on my television shows, Facebook LIVE broadcasts, and other media appearances. These beautiful objects delight everyone who visits my home throughout the season.
Enjoy these photos.
The giant falcon in my entrance hall is among the first things guests see when they visit my home. This year, we placed a cheerful gold wreath and birds in its beak.
Several gold Christmas trees are gathered around its feet on my green marble table.
I have two antique demilune tables in my foyer. This one is adorned with more gold Christmas trees and a whimsical village house.
Another house sits on the matching demilune table – flanked by two dove figurines.
I love these gold trees. Even one placed on a table looks merry.
This is one of two nearby sconces decorated with festive Christmas ball wreaths in a variety of pleasant metallic colors.
This is one of two foo dogs given to me by Kevin Sharkey. They’re perfect for my Green Parlor. We placed Christmas lights in its mouth to look like fire.
More Christmas trees bedeck this highboy in the Green Parlor. Here, we grouped many together to create this enchanting holiday forest.
Also in my Green Parlor – my precious Drabware manger set, which I made years ago. While Drabware tones vary from light coffee to dark olive, it took me awhile to get this perfect hue – I love it. I fired and glazed all the pieces myself and then embellished it with palm trees imported from Germany.
Flanking the creche are two slender and tall Christmas trees left completely undecorated – they are so beautiful as is.
On this sconce, I hung a string of colored mini LED lights.
In my small dining room, a silver tray is decorated with more glittered pinecone and bottle brush trees.
On the dining table is a snow covered village house – surrounded by even more trees.
Here is a charming village chapel on this tray located at the opposite side of the room.
Between my small dining room and my kitchen is the servery – a room from which meals are served. Whenever I entertain, I like to use this area for serving desserts and drinks. On this side, we decorated the counter with giant circular candy canes under the glass domes of these cake stands.
The lights add such a cheerful touch to this bright and festive display.
On the middle island, another village building and copper-colored trees.
Another tree nests in the bowl of this marble planter – it is one of two located in the doorway to my kitchen.
On my kitchen counter – this trio of copper tinsel trees with deer around the base. They look perfect with my copper pots above. All my guests adore these trees.
The mantle is decorated with another holiday village scene.
This village is on a large piece of wood. We surrounded it with cotton to look like snow, and used dry beans to create a footpath in the center.
Here is a view from above. Using items found at home is an easy way to embellish your decorations and make them unique.
You may have seen this on a blog earlier this week – the centerpiece on my long dining table. It also has a village theme.
On a nearby side table – one house, lit from the inside. Decorations don’t always have to be elaborate to be beautiful.
Another single house sits on this table.
And in this room, a cheerful tabletop Christmas tree adorned with all sorts of colorful bird ornaments.
It was the perfect backdrop for a photo of my dear doggies – French Bulldogs Creme Brulee and Bete Noire, and my Chow Chows Empress Qin and Emperor Han. I hope you’re all enjoying this holiday season with family and good friends. Share your favorite decorations with me in the comments section below. Tomorrow I will share photos of my outdoor decor.
