The Horses Get New Turnout Rugs from Horseware Ireland
My beautiful Friesians and Fell pony are all ready for winter.
My horses spend most of their time outside in their paddocks - running, rolling, and grazing. Now that colder weather has arrived here in the Northeast, it’s important that they all have well-fitted turnout blankets to keep them warm and dry. My stable manager, Sarah Levins, and I love the Rambo Supreme Turnout Rugs from Horseware Ireland, a company based in Dundalk that focuses on making breathable equine covers that don’t leak or slip. This year, we decided it was time to replace our older Rambo turnouts for new ones.

- It was so exciting to get our delivery of Rambo Supreme Turnout Rugs from Horseware Ireland. The company was founded in 1985 and has remained a leading manufacturer of clothes for horses, riders and pets ever since.

- Sarah takes Rutger out of his stall so she can put on his new turnout blanket. The Friesians, donkeys and Fell pony that reside here are so well behaved. They are all groomed daily, and given lots of attention from my dedicated stable team.

- These turnout blankets are very lightweight and easy to unfold.

- They’re cut from the strongest and most durable turnout material on the market – ballistic nylon. And, I love that the outside color is black to match my handsome Friesians.

- Rutger seems to like his new blanket. The blanket is also completely waterproof and very breathable and has an anti-static and anti-bacterial lining.

- The surefit neck design V-front closure gives the horse great freedom of movement, especially when grazing. The roomy cut allows it to fit many different sized horses.

- Underneath these blankets are three secure cross surcingles and liner loops. These adjustable straps keep the cover in place during all kinds of horseplay.

- The velcro closures on the opposite side are extremely strong. The gold color looks very nice against the jet black of the blanket and my Friesians.

- The blanket includes reflective strips in the front and back, so they’re easy to see in their paddocks during night checks.

- The Rambo Supreme Turnout Rugs also come with nickel-plated bolt snap hooks – all the closures are durable and easy to use.

- And the extra strong stitching all around the blanket gives it a nice finished look. Our previous Rambo turnout blankets lasted several years.

- These blankets are outfitted with ample leg room for smooth easy walking. My horses are always so excited to head out to their paddocks.

- And here are Dolma and Helen with Meindert, Rutger, Rinze and Ramon after a good romp in the field. I love knowing that all my pets get excellent food and care – these things are the least I could provide for all they give to me.
