Two of my latest books, “Slow Cooker” and “Newlywed Kitchen” continue to provide lots of fun and useful ideas for new couples and those who love using one of America's most popular kitchen appliances.
To promote these books, I conducted a book signing, yesterday, at Macy’s Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey. About 200-people turned out for the event and I had a delightful time signing books and talking with the crowd. Guests loved flipping through the photographs and reading the many tips and hints in these two wonderful cooking guides. We also served refreshments including several small bites - everyone loved them.
Enjoy these photos. I also introduced my newest and soon to be released book, "Martha's Flowers", published by Clarkson Potter - see a close-up photo of the cover on my Instagram page @MarthaStewart48.
The book signing was held in the Home Department. Macy’s always sets up such a nice and inviting staging area surrounded by pieces from my various collections. I am holding a copy of “Newlywed Kitchen” with “Slow Cooker” and “Martha’s Flowers” on the table.
We displayed “Slow Cooker” and Newlywed Kitchen” nearby and for every customer who spent 50-dollars or more at Macy’s, they received a book of their choice.
The line formed quickly. Visitors were very pleased to see both books and to attend the event.
As more and more people arrived, the line serpentined through the aisles.
There were so many enthusiastic guests – I love hearing their stories and learning what they find most inspiring in my books.
Whenever I do a book signing, I always like to personalize the books – it is a detail I have always found important.
Book signing events are a wonderful way to meet the people who love my products and my publications. I always get very helpful feedback from customers.
Small bites from my “Newlywed Kitchen” book were passed around to all the guests.
Everyone loved the Ricotta Pizza with Fresh and Roasted Tomatoes.
They also found these Cheese Coins with Pepper Jelly very flavorful.
Here’s a tray of Summer Rolls with Peanut Dipping Sauce – another recipe from my book, “Martha Stewart’s Newlywed Kitchen: Recipes for Weeknight Dinners & Easy, Casual Gatherings”
And of course, we served small sweets – these are Mini Cheesecakes.
Some of the other hors d’oeuvres included Potato and Beet Latkes and Flammekueche, a classic example of the pizzalike tarte flambée.
If there is time, I always try to pose for photos with guests – many of them like to post pictures on their social platforms. (Photo by Rosario Zinnanti Photography)
Not far from the book signing was the section containing various pieces from my kitchen and bedding collection. This area is set-up for Valentine’s Day with lots of heart themed baking essentials for making your favorite Valentine’s treats.
In this area, a display of my enameled cast iron cookware and copper bowls – wonderful gift ideas for any occasion.
And, everyone can use these kitchen gadgets from my Martha Stewart Collection too, and they make great gifts for newlyweds. https://www.macys.com/shop/kitchen/martha-stewart-kitchenware?id=30190
