Our annual Wellness Expo encourages all our employees to get healthy and fit.
Now in its ninth year, yesterday's event kicked-off the cold season by offering free flu shots, and gathering a variety of health and fitness professionals to share their expertise and advice with our valued employees. The wellness fair ran for several hours of the day, so staff members could attend when their busy schedules allowed.
I always emphasize healthy living. Our wellness expo is a great way to bring awareness about the many ways we can all live well. Enjoy the photos.
Once a year, we invite wellness experts to set-up booths in our grand clerestory to talk to employees about their health and fitness needs.
Healthy organic snacks and water are provided during the expo.
Facilities head, Lynn Goodwin, and human resources director, Erin Gray, welcomed employees to this year’s wellness event.
Those who attended were encouraged to enter the free raffle for a chance to win one of several fitness related prizes. Employees received one ticket as they visited with each wellness professional. Associate merchandising designer, Kimberly James-Jammal, and senior designer, Emily Eibel, fill out their tickets and put them in the box.
This year’s raffle prizes include smart watches and televisions, fitness tracking bracelets, and gift cards.

Justena’s booth was equipped with all the necessary medical supplies – the flu shot program is among the most popular at the expo, especially now as we all prepare for the cold weather season.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), for the 2016-2017 season, only injectable vaccines are recommended. The composition of US flu vaccines is reviewed annually and updated to match circulating flu viruses. http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/flu-season-2016-2017.htm
Here’s head of television and video development and production, Kim Miller-Olko, signing-in at the flu shot table. Employees take special care to get their flu shots – more than 80 vaccinations were expected to be administered.

Representatives from Between the Bread, a New York City caterer specializing in healthy, wholesome foods for corporate events, brought in samples for all to try – kale, quinoa and brussels sprouts based dishes were a big hit! http://www.betweenthebread.com
