Book Signing at Stew Leonard's This Past Weekend!
I Signed Six Hundred Books on Saturday!
This past Saturday was very busy for me. In the morning, I traveled to Hamden, CT, where we shot a television segment at a tree farm. Then, we drove to Norwalk, CT, where I was to sign copies of my new book, Martha Stewart’s Cooking School at the store, Stew Leonard’s. And I’ll tell you more about this amazing food store soon.
Stew Leonard’s and I sort of ‘grew up’ together. The store opened its doors in 1969 and I started shopping there when I first moved to neighboring Westport, CT, and I was a ‘big’ customer when I had my catering business. The Leonard’s and I have been friends all this time so I was thrilled when they asked if I’d be interested in doing a book signing. This event was a big success. Stew Leonard’s purchased hundreds of copies of my book and was selling them for a discounted price. The doors opened at 1 PM and there was a steady stream of patrons until closing time at 3 PM. When all was tallied up, the total number of books signed was 600! And yes, my hand and arm do get tired, but I love it! Then, I was off to my next event – the Bar Mitzvah of the son of good friends.
