Preparing the Gardens
When it comes to creating and maintaining a healthy garden, proper soil preparation is crucial.
Every year at my farm, we spend a good amount of time preparing the soil for planting. With such mild early spring days, the outdoor grounds crew has had a good start on setting up the gardens - this includes removing debris and old root systems, building raised, well-aerated beds, and adding organic and nutrient-rich compost. It is a tedious process, but well worth the effort for a successful gardening season. Here are some photos, and a glimpse of what has already started to bloom around the farm. Happy spring!
