Gift Ideas from the International Folk Art Market
There are just a few shopping days left before Christmas. If you’re still looking for gift ideas, consider a unique and handmade present from the International Folk Art Market.
As many of you may know, my longtime employee, Kate Lewis, attends the International Folk Art Market every year in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Founded in 2004, this event is the largest market of its kind in the world. More than 150-master folk artists representing nearly 60-different countries across six-continents are selected to participate - to sell their crafts and to share stories about their cultures. Many of the artists are from developing countries, where political, social, and environmental hardships often make everyday life challenging. The Market provides a platform for these artists, and offers them economic opportunities that largely impact their families and their villages. Kate loves seeing all the new art pieces that are presented each year, and always brings back wonderful photos to share with you. Enjoy, and please visit the online shop to purchase folk art from these skilled and talented craftspeople.
