Founded in 2004, this event is the largest market of its kind in the world. More than 150-master folk artists representing nearly 60-different countries across six-continents are selected to participate - to sell their crafts and to share stories about their cultures. Many of the artists are from developing countries, where political, social, and environmental hardships often make everyday life challenging. The Market provides a platform for these artists, and offers them economic opportunities that largely impact their families and their villages.
