Friends of Hudson River Park Auction Dinner
What price would you pay for the “ultimate culinary experience”? For two auction winners of the 2014 Friends of Hudson River Park annual gala fundraiser, that price was 46-thousand dollars! It included a dinner for up to 20-people made at the winner’s home by Momofuku’s Chef David Chang and myself - but all for a good cause… the maintenance and care of the beautiful five-mile long Hudson River Park in New York City.
David and I both sit on the Friends of Hudson River Park board. At first, we only auctioned off one “ultimate culinary experience” prize, but when it fetched such a good price, David and I agreed to offer a second, and that too was picked up right away!
Last week was the first of the two dinners. David and his team prepared four of the five-course meal for 15 people. It included dishes inspired by his famous Momofuku restaurants. My staff and I were responsible for the table setting and the dessert. It was not only an excellent dinner, but a very fun charity event.
