My calendar is always filled with business meetings, events, and speaking engagements.
Last week, I made a quick visit to Brooklyn, New York's Industry City to give the special keynote address at the biannual Create & Cultivate conference. This event highlights female millennial small business owners and entrepreneurs and brings them together to connect and share ideas, tips, and resources to “cultivate and create” their careers. More than 1500 guests from all over the country attended the daylong affair. It was an honor to share my business knowledge and experiences and to meet so many spirited and aspiring young businesswomen.
Enjoy these photos.

An installation called “Small Business Marketplace,” allowed five local, female-led businesses to showcase their brands. They included jewelry line Bliss Lau, floral decor brand East Olivia Creative, logo clothing shop YES I AM, sunglasses store Coco and Breezy and hat designer Teresa Foglia. During my keynote conversation with Create & Cultivate founder, Jaclyn Johnson, I told the audience to “take the reins and to be a strong, willful, self-possessed person.” I reminded them to “let stuff run-off you – don’t dwell on the problem.” And I told them my motto: “when you’re through changing, you’re through.” (Photo by Bekah Linder)

And here we are in front of a floral backdrop stating one of the conference’s most powerful messages. You may have seen it on my Instagram page @marthastewart48.
