I always enjoy sharing photos from our staff’s Thanksgiving Day celebrations.
Every year on the day before Thanksgiving, I send out an email to all our company employees, extending my very best wishes for a safe and lovely holiday. I also encourage them to take photos of their table settings, their feasts, their families and their friends - I’m always so thrilled to see the pictures and to read the many captions that accompany them.
Many of you have also commented on how much you look forward to seeing our annual Thanksgiving gallery, so here it is - enjoy.
Thanksgiving dinner is the largest eating event in the United States. People eat more on Thanksgiving than on any other day of the year.
Our VP of marketing, Stella Cicarone, hosted Thanksgiving at her home. Here is her beautifully set table.
Stella cooked her turkey and the mashed potatoes using my recipes – she says both were absolutely delicious.
Anduin Havens, our video creative director, made this pumpkin pie. She made it with molasses and cloves like her Grandma.
Anduin also served Holiday Crush, a delicious bourbon cocktail with Earl Grey tea and cardamom bitters, which she learned to make at the recent USA Wine & Food Experience in Chicago.
Anduin also molded her butter in the shape of turkeys.
Anduin’s Thanksgiving turkey was made by her best friend and her husband – they cook a perfect bird every year.
Here is Anduin’s table filled with delicious dishes.
Anduin also shared this photo of her daughter Harper’s girl scout troop – all the girls served Thanksgiving dinner at their local church. Harper is on the left wearing the hat and talking with her mom.
Adriana Weisberg from our housekeeping team made a wonderful dinner for her family. It included big platters of mashed potatoes, stuffing and of course, the turkey.
She also prepared a colorful and refreshing salad and other delicious sides.
Our mailroom supervisor, Francisco Sanchez, enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving celebration hosted by his mom.
We are so thankful for several babies that were born this year. This is Ethan Cole, the son of executive assistant, Cathryn DelaRosa. Ethan is five-months old and growing very fast. Here is Ethan in his first Thanksgiving dinner outfit.
Cathryn celebrated the holiday with 15 family members. Here’s the first half of the family sitting down to eat. With so many, the family ate in shifts.
Look at all the beautiful pies – all of them homemade. They include apple pie, chocolate pecan pie, chocolate pudding pie, pumpkin pie, Dutch apple pie, and flan. Cathryn’s sister, Ashley, made the majority of the pies along with their mother, Colleen and sister-in-law, Lola.
Cathryn’s husband brines his turkey every year. The process took two-days for this 20-pound bird, but it was well worth all the effort – it was delicious.
By the end of the day, Cathryn’s son, Ethan, was ready to move on to the next holiday.
My executive administrative manager, Dorian Arrich, spent her holiday at her brother’s in Naperville, Illinois – look at this elegant table setting.
To start off the day’s celebration, Dorian’s nephew, David, and her sister-in-law, Dr. Linda Arrich, prepared apple cider mimosas with sparkling wine from our own Martha Stewart Wine Co.
Here’s the family seated for this all-important American meal – but first the yearly selfie. Dorian is joined by her brother, David, Linda, David Jr., Alexandra, Brian, James, and Michael.
Here’s Dorian’s brother following instructions and basting the turkey from the Martha & Marley Spoon Turkey box kit.
The family Labrador Retriever, Zeke, enjoyed his Martha Stewart toy from my collection at QVC. Dorian says it’s super durable – Zeke was unable to tear it apart.
And this is Dorian’s brother’s traditional Thanksgiving turkey soup. He takes pride in making the soup every year. The key is the hearty stock made from all the leftover trimmings plus freshly chopped garlic and veggies. After simmering for hours, he removes all the solid pieces, leaving a delicious broth. And then he adds finely chopped veggies to simmer 30 more minutes with the stock. The last step is to add cubes of leftover turkey right before serving! Egg noodles or rice make a great filler.
Cheryl DuLong, who works up at Skylands, my home in Maine, celebrated Thanksgiving twice. Earlier this month, she was with her son, Torrey Grant, and his girlfriend, Michaela Sattaur – they host a “Friendsgiving” in Syracuse every year.
The meal included traditional side dishes such as Brussel sprouts – this one with bacon.
And a platter of sweet potatoes.
Cheryl made her rendition of pumpkin charlotte – a creamy, no-bake dessert that’s perfect for entertaining. Instead of the traditional lady fingers, she uses Milano cookies. It is always a big hit.
Cheryl’s second Thanksgiving was for one on Thanksgiving Day – she enjoyed every bit of her feast. She’s still working on some of the leftovers.
This is Cheryl’s gorgeous Thanksgiving turkey – 14-pounds.
Cheryl also made mincemeat pie. The mincemeat recipe was passed down from her grandmother and her mother and made using deer meat.
And here’s her perfect pumpkin pie.
This submission is from Danielle Vitt, our digital marketing manager. Danielle and her husband, David, hosted Thanksgiving at their New York City apartment. Both of their moms visited from central Florida and stayed with them for the holiday weekend.
Look closely to see who is already sitting at the table ready for dinner – Danielle’s very handsome cat, Pepper.
Danielle picked up a sampling of delicious holiday treats from Martha’s Country Bakery – another Martha. They include chocolate layer cake, pumpkin pie, and apple crumb cheesecake.
Brand coordinator, Jessica Hopen, spent her Thanksgiving in sunny Florida with her family. Here is Jessica’s mom’s beautiful table. Jessica made the turkey card using my fabulous Cricut machine from Michaels.
And here is the delicious spread of Thanksgiving dishes.
Brand manager, Samantha Perlman, also went to Florida for the holiday. Samantha and her husband went to West Palm Beach to visit his father and his grandmother, who will be 91-years young in February. Needless to say – they really enjoyed the warm weather and change of scenery.
Samantha says she always forgets to capture the spread before everyone digs in! This was Samantha’s first Thanksgiving with an Italian spin – and she loved it.
Here, Samantha’s father-in-law, Vincent, and his brother Robert, carve the turkey while their sister, Barbara, prepares the gravy.
Barbara loves to decorate all areas of the house.
Danielle Malin, one of our designers, enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving with her husband’s family. It was the first for their son, Jonah Rye.
Their table setting was done with mixed and matched vintage dishes, handmade plaid napkins with fresh thyme ties and a Martha Stewart ceramic pumpkin, from my collection at Macy’s, filled with homemade cranberry sauce.
The napkins and place cards were handmade.
Here is another beautiful photo of Danielle’s son, Jonah, who grew his first two teeth just for the occasion!
And here is everyone seated at the table enjoying a wonderful meal together.
Lauryn McLaughlin is our director of marketing. She hosted Thanksgiving this year for her family. Here is her beautiful table setting.
Lauryn’s centerpiece included a lovely flower arrangement.
And beautifully hand made place cards.
Lauryn started everyone off with some appetizers.
Here she is with her family, showing off their place cards before diving in to the delicious meal.
This family photo is from IP paralegal, Gianella Domdom. They enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner that also included Filipino dishes such as arroz caldo, a rice porridge, and karioka, a coconut dessert.
Gianella’s sister, Guen, and her husband, Eric, just returned from their honeymoon in South Africa so it was the perfect time to give them my book, “Newlywed Kitchen”.
Here is Eugene Toye, the husband of my longtime makeup artist, Daisy Schwartzberg Toye. Eugene was busy in the kitchen this Thanksgiving.
Daisy and Eugene filled their table with lots of wonderful dishes.
Here is a photo of Eugene, Daisy and their beautiful son, Quinton Cole.
My driver, Rock Periera, enjoyed the holiday at home with his wife, son and extended family.
Here is the family just before dinner began. Rock’s wife’s father-in-law, Ernesto, was the day’s chef. They had a great meal with turkey, lasagna and many other traditional holiday dishes.
My administrative business manager, Maureen Farago, sent in this photo of her beautiful daughter, Julianna, on Thanksgiving Day.
Maureen’s sister-in-law, Denise Mahon, made this festive fruit basket for the party.
Our VP of business development, James Setton, shared this photo of his Thanksgiving table.
Here is the turkey fresh from the oven.
His Thanksgiving meal also included many sides, such as maple syrup sweet potatoes, chicken pot pie, cauliflower, string beans, Brussel sprouts, and a kale salad.
And here’s a basmati and wild rice dish with chickpeas, currants and herbs.
And Heather Kirkland, who directs many of my special events, flew down to North Carolina to spend Thanksgiving with her family. Here she is joined by Pat, her dad Rick, niece Ashley, stepsister Amy, niece Mackenzie, sister-in-law Betsy, and her brother Keith. I am so happy to see everyone enjoyed the special day! I hope you all did too.
