Here I am with QVC’s models – we’re all wearing my new Ruana – a very versatile and most comfortable wrap.
I began the long QVC day with host, Sandra Bennett. We are both wearing my Ruana. It comes in five different colors – all perfect for the chilly days of fall.
Ruana is defined as a poncho-style outer garment typical of the Andes region of Colombia, particularly in the Boyacá department and Antioquia. I love ruanas and saw them during my first trip to Colombia many years ago. Here I am in the conch shell pink and cream.
This is QVC host, Gabrielle Kerr. We’re talking about how perfect the size is. This Ruana is 60-inches by 30-inches, so it offers great coverage. It also stays on – no slipping.
And I love that this is reversible. All my Ruanas are reversible, except the black, which is black on both sides.
Carolyn Gracie and I showed the TSV later that morning. Here I am wearing the Ruana in classic black. It is made of cotton, but looks and feels like the softest wool.
The elegant black Ruana matches everything. Here it is with one of my Crepe Jersey Floral Print Tops in Yarrow Ground – such a wonderful autumn combination. I also showed my totes and my new Zip Top Pouch with Leather Trim.
Here is a closer look at the Canvas Tote with Leather Trim. These totes are perfect work bags – I use one every day. It measures 23 and a half inches by 14-inches by just under eight-inches deep with handles.
At noon, I was with QVC host, Jennifer Coffey. Look how great the black Ruana looks with my jeans. I am wearing my Patchwork Denim Jeans. These feature fun patches on the front legs and come in gray, dark indigo and light indigo.
Here is a closer look at the gray and the light indigo Patchwork Denim Jeans – they are so comfortable and can be worn in any season.
Here I am again in the Ruana. Another great use for this piece is as a wrap on the airplane. If you travel a lot, use this to keep you warm and comfortable in those cold airplane cabins. It is so easy to fold up and keep in your carry-on bag.
And, it is machine washable. The weaving is done so well – it won’t fray or come apart at all. I know you will love it. This is the conch shell pink and reversible cream Ruana.
Give a Ruana as a gift – it fits and looks great on everyone. They are shown here with a pair of my dark indigo Patchwork Denim Jeans.
All my pieces, including these Ruanas, are personally tested – I look at every single item in my collections. It is important to me that I test everything, try everything and use everything before I share it with you.
Some of the other offerings from the day include my tunics and blouses. I love all my cotton shirts – so soft and so well-tailored.
Here is my chianti and navy blue Ruana which looks great with all my totes and pouches.
This is my tote in dark chocolate – such a beautiful and rich color for fall.
Here it is in fawn. And it is 100-percent cotton canvas and 100-percent leather trim. These totes hold all your essentials for the day.
The olive and black colors are also very popular. And, all my pieces coordinate well with each other. Use any of these with any of my apparel ensembles and it will coordinate perfectly.
And here I am with QVC host, Kerstin Lindquist, showing off these great Ruanas – Kerstin in the hosta green and gray, our model in the chianti and navy blue and myself in the mocha and cobblestone.
Kerstin also wore my new Short Sleeve Puffer Jacket. I wear one all the time – I just love it. It’s made of quilted down and is the best jacket for layering over a long sleeve t-shirt or blouse. It is great for chilly fall mornings when you need something light but comfortably warm.
We had such a fun time selling my new Ruanas. I hope you caught one or all of my appearances. Please follow my Twitter page @MarthaStewart to get all the latest details on future QVC dates – I have so much to share with you!
