Facebook LIVE: Birthday Party Ideas Using My Products from Michaels

This week, I hosted a special Facebook LIVE featuring all kinds of great items you can use for your next party. I showed our family-friendly craft paints and stencils, my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 Martha Stewart Edition and new iron-on and vinyl, and of course, the fun decorations and supplies in my Celebrations Collection - all available at Michaels, in-store and online. - Here is one of my wonderful themes available at Michaels. This one is called Blue Ombre and it includes everything – plates, cups, serving trays, and lots of festive wall and table decorations. goo.gl/uyDrGF

- For this special Facebook LIVE, we decided on a kids’ DIY gemstone, or birthstone, party. I invited the daughters of two colleagues to join me. Here are Phoebe and Sofia.

- We looked at all the various gemstones for each month of the year. Phoebe’s birthday is in October, so that stone is tourmaline. Sofia’s August birthstone is the same as mine – peridot.

- Each of the girls started working on a collage using our Michaels family-friendly paints. Children love to craft and this is the perfect project to do during the party.

- Here I am helping Sofia get started on her canvas collage. Everything you need from brushes to stencils and pouncers are all from my collection exclusively at Michaels.

- This is Phoebe’s work space. She also has glittered tapes and various gemstones nearby.

- Here I am talking to Phoebe about all the embellishments she is adding to her collage. My collection also has foam stamps, and other fanciful patterned tapes.

- Here are two finished collages using paints and stencils from my collection. The variety of paint colors and tools is large and always expanding.

- These Facebook LIVE broadcasts are done using iPhones as cameras – it’s an easy way to get really close to whatever we are showing. Here is Sofia painting the canvas for her unicorn and gemstone collage.

- These are all the Martha Stewart projects created for you on the Cricut design space – there are so many, and we’re always working on more.

- The gemstone placemat decorations can be used to create the table centerpiece. These were done using our patterned premium vinyl and glittered Cricut surfaces.

- Our creative video director, Anduin Havens, joined me for this portion of our Facebook LIVE. We answered many party planning questions from viewers – be sure to watch the video for lots of ideas, especially for another upcoming occasion – Halloween. You will love all our new Halloween decorations!

- These embellished boxes were made using our Cricut. They add such a fun and charming touch to the party as invitations or cards.

- We all love these glittery foil cupcake wrappers designed with scalloped edges. They look perfect with the matching trim added to the cake stands.

- Here, I am ironing the gemstone decal onto a t-shirt. Watch the Facebook LIVE to see how easy this is to do.

- The t-shirt looks like this before ironing – and takes only a few minutes with a warm iron to adhere. All the children will want one. It makes a wonderful party favor.

- Later in the show, I went back to see how our young crafters were doing with their collages.

- Phoebe is almost done – she loves using all different shades of pink. She also chose to add cats, butterflies and stars to her collage.

- Sofia has the sea-foam colored background all done, and here she is working on the unicorn.

- By the end of the broadcast, the girls were very excited to put on their new gemstone birthday t-shirts.
