The Cricut Explore Air™ 2 Martha Stewart Edition at Michaels
I’m so thrilled to partner with Cricut cutting machines to bring you the Cricut Explore Air™ 2 Martha Stewart Edition! And starting today, you can order your very own on Michaels.com. These great machines will also be in Michaels stores beginning May 4th.
If you enjoy doing crafts as much as I do, you’ll love this machine. I gave a quick demonstration on how it works yesterday during my special Facebook LIVE broadcast. This Cricut Explore Air 2 Special Edition Martha Stewart Machine bundle allows you to cut more than 100 different materials - from cardstock, vinyl, and iron-on to specialty materials such as glitter paper, cork, and bonded fabric - and then create beautiful cards, banners, decorations and so many other fun projects. We have a Cricut machine at my Bedford, New York farm - it’s so easy to use, and so versatile. My personal executive assistant, Shqipe Berisha, used it to make a charming “thank you" gift box to show you some of its wonderful features.
Enjoy these photos.
This Special Edition Martha Stewart Cricut comes in a pretty pearl color with all the essential tools you need to make so many wonderful projects.
It comes with a Cricut 12-inch by 12-inch LightGrip cutting mat, tweezers, weeder, spatula, scissors and scraper, accessory adapter, power cord, plus more than 100 free images and project ideas.
Shqipe inserts a pen into the holder. This pen will mark any areas that need folding.
This is the multi-purpose mat which will hold the material firmly in place during the cutting process.
Your design is chosen on the computer using the Cricut Design Space™ software and app.
Shqipe lines up the card stock to the adhesive lined mat.
And then places it into the loader for the machine.
The button panel to the right is well labeled for each step of the cutting process. Shqipe presses the “on” button, then the “loading” button, and then “c” to start cutting.
You can watch it make all the precise lines and cuts. Be sure there is also some space behind the Cricut, so the card stock has room to feed through the machine properly.
After the Cricut has finished cutting, and the mat and material has been ejected, the die cuts can easily be removed using the spatula tool.
Here, Shqipe gently lifts up the card stock from the mat – it is so easy.
Another piece is loaded into the Cricut. This will be the tag and lid for the gift box. The Cricut writes just as precisely as it cuts.
Once again, Shqipe uses the spatula to remove the card stock.
The box lid edges are folded carefully. These scalloped edges are so pretty – and all made with the Cricut.
Here are the finished pieces – a lid for the box and a tag with a hole cut out for the ribbon.
One more piece of card stock is inserted into the Cricut machine to make a three-dimensional butterfly cutout for the gift box.
In just a few minutes, the die cuts are removed and ready to assemble.
Once all the pieces are cut and folded, Shqipe glues them together using Martha Stewart Crafts glue adhesive.
Here is the gift tag with the word “thanks” perfectly centered on the card stock.
Next, Shqipe glues the two “butterfly” pieces together.
And then carefully folds and assembles the gift box.
The entire project took about 15-minutes.
And here is a charming “thank you” gift box – it is so easy to make, you’ll be so surprised with the Cricut’s versatility and performance.
Some of the other great Cricut projects from this bundle include a fun birthday card with scalloped edges.
Here is a paper lantern with butterflies.
And a fanciful vase of paper flowers and butterflies.
For your next spring party, serve drinks using your Cricut made swizzle stick decorations.
Create wall decals using one of many wonderful fonts.
Embellish an apron to give as a gift or to use yourself.
The Cricut can work with so many different materials – the possibilities are endless. In my next blog, I will share more from yesterday’s Facebook LIVE and my new “Celebrations” Collection at Michaels – everything you need to plan the perfect party.
