My latest book, “Martha Stewart’s Slow Cooker” provides so many wonderful recipes and tips for creating flavorful foolproof dishes in one of America's most popular kitchen appliances.
To promote the book, I conducted a book signing earlier this week at Williams Sonoma Columbus Circle in New York City. Nearly 200-visitors turned out for the event. I had a great time signing books and talking with the crowd - guests loved flipping through the stunning photographs and tasting samples as they lined up to meet me.
“Slow Cooker” has more than 100 mouth-watering recipes. Find out how to perfectly simmer soups and stews, braise cuts of meat, gently poach your favorite fish, bake a perfect cheesecake, and so much more - all with your slow cooker. If you haven’t already, I hope you'll pick up a copy of my book and try my recipes. I am certain you’ll absolutely love every one. Enjoy these photos.
After a busy day at the office, I headed to midtown Manhattan for a two-hour book signing at Williams Sonoma Columbus Circle.
Once there, I posed for a few press photos before the signing began.
It is always nice to see a lot of helpful signs at these events, so visitors know just where to go. The store filled up quickly.
There were also nice displays featuring copies of the book.
“Slow Cooker” has 110-recipes, tips and strategies for making delicious dishes and desserts. Do you have a copy?
My book signing was held in the rear of the store, but the line serpentined through several aisles before reaching my table.
It was great to see such an enthusiastic group of people excited about “Slow Cooker”. Guests were instructed to pick up the book, get it signed, do some shopping and then pay for their purchases.
Here was the first in line – do you notice anything? Her denim jacket is embellished with faux pearls. I noticed them right away. It reminds me of the faux-pearl denim jacket in my new QVC apparel collection. Do you have a pair of my jeans yet? http://www.qvc.com/Martha-Stewart-Regular-Faux-Pearl-5-Pocket-Ankle-Jeans.product.A301069.html?sc=SRCH
It was nice to meet this mother and daughter duo – they each got a book of their own. Whenever I can, I always like to personalize the books I sign – it’s a detail that is very important to me.
This guest is one of New York City’s finest – a Manhattan borough police officer. She explained how her busy schedule doesn’t always allow for lots of cooking – she’s so excited to start using her slow cooker.
Each person in line is asked to write the name of the book’s recipient on a piece of paper – it helps make the process more efficient. Here’s the book I signed for NYPD Officer Pacheco.
This couple recently got married. They bought a copy for themselves and one for a brother.
The food prep station was visible from the queue. Williams Sonoma employees made three dishes from the book for guests to sample.
Here is the Three Cheese Macaroni – fresh from the slow cooker and into single serving cups.
Beef and Pork Meatballs was another dish – cooked right in the prep area of the store. All these dishes from the book are so easy to make.
And these are the servings of Apple Cranberry Crisp. These went very quickly – all three were big hits.
Williams Sonoma staff members were also excited about the book – these two already picked several recipes they wanted to make.
This is Amirah Kassem. She is opening a new bakery called Flour Shop in SoHo – just downtown from this store’s location. https://flourshop.com/
The line remained full for nearly two-hours. I signed at least 170-copies, though my writing hand was not tired at all – I am quite used to signing many books.
And this is Ellen Marie Bennett from Hadley & Bennett Aprons. Ellen was one of the speakers at our 2014 American Made Summit. We also use her aprons exclusively at The Martha Stewart Café. It was wonderful to see her at the event. https://www.hedleyandbennett.com/ http://www.marthastewartcafe.com
I always enjoy these book signings – it’s always so delightful to meet new people and to learn first hand feedback about my products and publications.
This guest came in with his dog. Whenever I conduct book signings, I always try to stop for photos when possible – this one was hard to resist.
It was a very fun and successful event. Please get a copy of my book – it makes a wonderful holiday gift. https://www.amazon.com/Martha-Stewarts-Slow-Cooker-Strategies/dp/0307954684
