The Detroit Free Press Food & Wine Experience is for everyone who enjoys good food! Visitors can indulge in food, wine, beer and spirits from famous chefs and mixologists. There will be cooking demonstrations, grand tastings and fun, informative and inspirational panel discussions with some of the nation’s top culinary experts. If you sign up for "Meet Martha", you'll sit-in on my special demos, samplings and other activities. I will be sharing some of my best kitchen tips, answering questions, signing copies of my latest book, "Slow Cooker", and giving away wonderful gifts from my collections at Macy’s, Martha Stewart Wine Co., and Martha & Marley Spoon. I am so excited - it is going to be a terrific day for all who attend.
Founded in 1701, Detroit is the most populous city in Michigan, and the largest city on the United States–Canada border.
Detroit’s diverse culture has had both local and international influence, particularly in Motown and techno music, and in the development of jazz, hip-hop, and rock. And don’t forget, its many ties to the auto industry have given it the nickname “Motor City.”
Next week’s Detroit Free Press Food & Wine Experience will be held in downtown Detroit. The event allows guests to taste, savor and explore the Detroit culinary scene, from trends to regional traditions. There will be lots to enjoy including tastings, cooking demos, chef “meet and greets” and compelling panel discussions.
I love Detroit, and always enjoy visiting some of my favorite spots whenever I am there, including The Detroit Institute of Bagels. Brothers Ben and Dan Newman opened The Detroit Institute of Bagels in 2013 and it has thrived ever since.
They offer many bagel flavors, including classic plain, cinnamon raisin, sesame and poppy, as well as more unique bagels such as rosemary olive oil and jalepeno cheddar. I encourage you to stop by the next time you’re in the area. https://www.detroitinstituteofbagels.com/
While at the Detroit Free Press Food & Wine Experience, I will also host several events for special “Meet Martha” ticket holders. I’ll do a fun cooking demo featuring some of my favorite recipes from my new book, “Slow Cooker”.
I will host a panel discussion much like the ones I’ve done at our American Made Summits. At next week’s panel, I’ll talk to young Detroit entrepreneurs about the surge in new food-related businesses. (Photo by Andrew Toth/Getty Images)
I will conduct a wine tasting with samples from the Martha Stewart Wine Co. You’ll love the selections I’ve chosen.
And, I will also do a book signing for my newest publication, “Martha Stewart’s Slow Cooker”. Copies of the book will be given to those attending my “Meet Martha” event.
I enjoy book signings because I get to meet so many interesting people. And, whenever time allows, I always try to stop for quick snapshots with visitors.
Here I am at another book signing event – the crowds are always so energetic and personable.
In addition, attendees who sign up to see me will get two-meals for two FREE from Martha & Marley Spoon.
