My latest book, “A New Way to Bake” provides so many wonderful and updated recipes with healthier ingredients for enjoying your favorite baked dishes.
Earlier this week, I conducted a food demo and book signing at Macy’s Roosevelt Field in Garden City, New York - just under one-hour from our Manhattan headquarters. More than 150-people turned out for the event and I had a great time signing books and talking with the crowd. Guests loved flipping through the book’s photographs and tasting samples from our demo. I hope you’ll pick up a copy of my book and try the recipes - you’ll absolutely love every one. And, be sure to check out the Martha Stewart Collection at Macy's for great products and supplies for your kitchen.
My book “A New Way to Bake” is in bookstores now. It’s filled with 130-recipes that use better-for-you ingredients from the modern pantry, such as farro, quinoa and coconut oil, to transform classic cookies, cakes and all your baking favorites. (Photo by Richard Allsopp for Macy’s Inc.)

A copy of the latest issue of our magazine, “Living”, was placed on every seat along with a notecard and pencil for writing ideas and tips learned during the demo, and vouchers for vouchers for Martha & Marley Spoon and our new Martha Stewart Wine Co. (Photo by Richard Allsopp for Macy’s Inc.)
The event was adjacent to all the displays for The Martha Stewart Collection.
All the shelves were well-stocked and easy for guests to see. Macy’s always creates such pretty displays.

I spoke a little about the book before we began the demo. And, as we cooked, I also answered lots of questions from the audience.
Food editor, Shira Bocar, joined me for the demo, along with Sarah Carey, our executive editorial director of food. (Photo by Richard Allsopp for Macy’s Inc.)
We made two recipes – these are granola cookies made with coconut oil instead of butter. They also include coconut flakes, dried cherries, pepitas and bittersweet chocolate chunks. (Photo by Richard Allsopp for Macy’s Inc.)
Our second recipe was rhubarb and raspberry rye crisp. On the screen is a photo of the rhubarb growing in my garden right now – so lush and beautiful. (Photo by Richard Allsopp for Macy’s Inc.)

Next was the book signing. Just as I started signing books, I posed for a few press photos.
Guests were instructed to purchase their books before the event started. This guest had already picked out some recipes she wanted to try at home. (Photo by Richard Allsopp for Macy’s Inc.)
It’s important to keep the line moving, but when I can, I also try to stop for snapshots with visitors. (Photo by Richard Allsopp for Macy’s Inc.)
