Join me in celebrating American Made’s 5th Anniversary!
I am so proud of all the talented Makers we've helped over these past five years. Our annual event honors and highlights up and coming entrepreneurs who have demonstrated innovation, determination and creativity in the fields of agriculture, manufacturing, design and style. These companies not only embody the American spirit, but inspire all of us to pursue our entrepreneurial dreams.
Part of the mission of American Made has always been to invite attendees to learn from me, my editors, and some of the best purveyors across the country. Our Summit includes discussion panels on topics ranging from doing good works to women's leadership and so much more. Dozens of other small businesses join our retail market to share their products and knowledge. We provided workshops, informational displays and a wonderful arena for entrepreneurs to connect and learn. If you're an entrepreneur, and plan to be in the New York City area Saturday, October 22nd, I urge you to join us for American Made’s very special anniversary Summit, and find out what you can do to grow your business! Just click on the highlighted link to get your American Made tickets now! These are some of our favorite moments from the past five years. Enjoy.
Here I am celebrating American spirit at our 2012 Summit – our very first year.
Here is 2012 Honoree and one of our favorite makers, Alisa Toninato of FeLion Studios, and American Skillet Company. FeLion Studios is a design sculpture studio specializing in cast iron art, custom castings and commercial commissions. http://www.felionstudios.com
Here’s one of Alisa’s beautiful, and popular state-shaped cast-iron skillets.
This is one of the 2012 Shop vendors, Studio Carta, an internationally recognized design studio specializing in custom ribbons, twines, unique accessories and fine stationery imported directly from Italy. http://www.shopangelaliguori.com
Here I am with our 2013 Honorees at our second annual Martha Stewart American Made awards celebration – an exciting year saluting and highlighting 10 up-and-coming entrepreneurs, who have shown innovation and creativity in their respective fields creating American made goods.
This is our glittering 2013 American Made logo.
Here I am with a bottle of delicious McClure’s Pickles. After growing up making pickles each year for Christmas gifts with their pickle-loving father and grandfather, brothers Bob and Joe McClure decided to give the pickle business a try – one in New York, and one in Detroit – it was a huge success. https://mcclures.com
We held our third annual Martha Stewart American Made Awards and Summit at our New York City headquarters, the historic Starrett Lehigh building. Each year, we select 10-American Made Honorees, based on their talents in crafts, design, food or style. http://www.starrett-lehigh.com
Our Honoree displays incorporate photographs, actual products, and explanatory text telling their entrepreneurial stories.
This is our 2014 American Made logo. Every year, our talented team comes up with something new. Can you guess what the silver material is? It’s a glittering silver rendering of the United States made out of Mylar.
I always enjoy meeting so many young, energetic and talented artists at American Made – they’re not only dreamers, they’re doers.
Our Food and Entertaining Editorial Director, Sarah Carey, along with many other culinary experts including our own Chef Emeril LaGasse, lead cooking demonstrations at our Summit.
Honorees talk to attendees about their business starting experiences, and provide advice to fellow makers, and aspiring entrepreneurs.
These tables were made by 2015 Honoree, Peter Sandback – one of three Design Winners. These tables are exquisite – made with inlaid nails inspired by old fabric designs and Japanese stencils.
Here’s a themed fruit-and-cheese display at the 2015 cocktail reception held in New York City’s One World Observatory, at the top of One World Trade Center, on the 102nd Floor Horizon Level.
The reception included a charcuterie board filled with delicious meats, peppers and olives, fruits and breads.
Our Summit offers interactive craft demonstrations, where attendees can be creative.
Our Martha Stewart Cafe pop-up booth provides guests with cups of Martha’s Blend coffees and teas. Everyone loves our cafe drinks. And, don’t forget, you can also buy your favorite Martha Stewart coffees and teas online. http://www.marthastewartcafe.com
