This afternoon I will appear on "Steve Harvey Show" - hosted by the multi-talented comedian, bestselling author, and television and radio show host. This will be the second of three segments we taped several weeks ago, and today I'll show you pictures from that taping. In the segments, I showed Steve many useful and easy ways to relieve stress with the help of the U.S. Postal Service. Steve has a fascinating background. He spent his early twenties working at a number of jobs - insurance salesman, postman, professional boxer — without finding anything that seemed to fit. Eventually he found his true calling performing standup comedy in the mid-1980s. After honing his act in small clubs for several years, his career took off. He's probably best known for his Kings of Comedy tour, where he was joined by Cedric the Entertainer, Bernie Mac and D.L. Hughley. The four comics became national celebrities, and Steve used the fame to build a virtual one-man multimedia empire. I hope you will watch this afternoon and enjoy the show!
Here’s one of Steve’s co-executive producers, Jason Kurtz, and my producer, Judy Morris, preparing items backstage.
Stage manager Wes MacMillan, co-executive producer Jason Kurtz, and Kelli Bishop, one of my former stylists from the Martha Show who now works on Steve’s show.
This is Kim Hartman, a food stylist, who did the baking for the cookie segment. Here you can see pistachio spritz cookies, chocolate-hazelnut shortbread squares, cinnamon-almond stars, and raspberry palmiers. All the recipes appear in our holiday cookie story in the December 2014/January 2015 issue, available on newsstands now.
Greg took good care of me. He and everyone else were so nice.
Judy Morris and my Corporate Communications staffer from MSLO, Jana Branson.
Here’s the stage at NBC Studios in Chicago where Steve Havey Show is taped.
My three segments were all linked to the holidays and the possibility of sending gifts through the USPS.
This was the second time I journeyed to Chicago to appear on Steve’s afternoon show. As always he was his funny, droll and amazingly comedic self.
My administrative manager Dorian Arrich travelled to Chicago to see Steve’s show – but more importantly to visit her mother, who was celebrating her birthday! Both Dorian and her mother adore Steve.
A sound check and mike adjustment with sound engineer Greg Pavis.
Clever graphics were everywhere – I especially liked this one.
Steve made lots of very funny jokes – most of which were totally unscripted! We laughed and laughed.
