Behind-the-Scenes at Television Season 7!
I can hardly believe that we just started season 7 of my television show! It seems as though season 6 just ended recently and I’m left wondering where all of the summer “down” time I was hoping for disappeared to? As it turned out, my summer was a whirlwind of travel and activities and I’m actually happy to be back in my work routine. The new season kicked off with cooking and crafting secrets from the pros. Pastry chef, Kierin Baldwin of Andrew Carmellini’s fabulous new restaurant, The Dutch, shared her inventive recipe for an amazing devil’s food cake with three secret ingredients. Blogger Erica Chan Coffman of Honestly WTF, demonstrated a simple technique for creating boutique-worthy glittered shoes at a fraction of the retail cost. I was also very pleased to reveal our new state-of-the-art studio kitchen created by The Home Depot.

I think I like it very much. I'd like to have a kitchen even a tenth as beautiful as this one. Shoot, I'd just like to have a kitchen, period!!
I like your outfit, also, and the way you can throw your leg up on the counter. You must be one limber lady!:)
I just wish I could see your shows, but have not been able to since you went to Hallmark. So, I just enjoy your Blogs.

The kitchen is wonderful. Congratulations on the start of your new season. I watched the preview of folding a fitted sheet and it was very funny. I hope there us more audience participation. That would be great fun.

Beautiful kitchen - so usable and functional. That is my dream!! Alas!

Meant more to me, watching your first show of 7th year, than I want to admit. Your kitchen is great and it is my good fortune having the same kitchen that I have cooked in for 50 years today even if it is shabby.

Note to self....must get a label maker!! I watched the 1st show of season 7 and it didn't dissapoint. OMG, that kitchen! Those brackets and open shelves are fantastic, and I love, love, the sink. I'm assuming those groves on the counter next to the sink is for drainage? I like the fortune cookie color, will check out your collection at Home Depot. I like how the color compliments the stainless steel appliances. Martha, you looked beautiful on the show and those gold shoes are to die for! What a Martha thing to do to paint the undersides of the shoes from red to black to go with more outfits!

Hi Martha,
I most definitely enjoyed the backstage tour. It’s outfitted like a house without beds but I bet not every backstage looks that great. They wouldn’t have that assortment of dishes or a workshop and then you mentioned that you have a bigger storage place across the street. I never realized all that goes on to produce a show. It’s quite fascinating.
~
The first two shows have been great. I love the interaction with the audience and viewers and you seem to be having a lot of fun. It shows. I enjoyed the guests also – sorry but never did care for celebrities trying to cook. Might as well put me on TV, I could botch things up just as well! Keep up the good work and I must say you look great too. Maybe the summer flew by for you but I’ve been counting the days for Season 7 to start. I just wish everyone could watch but I also wonder why they don’t switch back to Comcast. U-verse tried to get us to sign up and I declined. I’m glad I did. Well, I’m off to the dentist…again. I’ll have to watch your show later so I’m glad it’s on again at 2 P.M. Trish

Hi Martha, this blog was so wonderful!
I haven't been able to watch you since Hallmark moved to a channel I can't get without a cable box but I fully intend to get one this weekend so I can watch you again!
The kitchen looks beautiful and feels so warm and cozy. I'm lucky to have a decently sized kitchen in my apartment but boy it is nothing like that.
Someday I hope to get to New York for a taping and to actually see you in person. I just hope you're wearing the glittery shoes whenever I come!
Love, Jane

Lovely set and you look very fabulous! I really like the open shelves with the pretty brackets!
Especially thank you for the tour as we don't get the Hallmark Channel here.

Hi Martha, Thank you so much for taking us behind the scenes of your fabulous TV studio at the beginning of Season 7-FANTASTIC! These photos make me feel like I have actually been there and I LOVE it! In the first 2 shows, you have been very active and inspiring as well as positive-you continue to make my day so happy whenever I watch your wonderful shows! All of the crew members there must have had a delightful summer and now look so happy to be doing their jobs again! That new kitchen replaced by Home Depot is absolutely charming and some day, I hope to improve my kitchen! How thoughtful of Simeon Guss to give you that beautiful orchid! Love seeing your Martha Stewart Clean item in photo #10-I LOVE every one of those products! Photo #50 is fabulous! Thanks so much for sharing! Have to wait about 3 hours to see show number three today. Have another great day! Jan

Martha, thanks for sharing behind-the-scenes, this reminds me of my visit to the show. The line outside the studio and all, I was in the front of the line and met one lady that had been to the show 8 times - WOW!!! I've been watching the new season and I'm so excited about it. Thanks for all that you do.

Martha,
I have just recently discovered you on the Hallmark Channel and I must say that you have recaptured my faith in cooking shows. There is no angle or gimmick, just fun, relevant crafts and recipes and really wonderful tips! I am just sorry that you and Emeril are only on a few hours a day! You make me want to have you for lunch, sip wine and talk away the afternoon!

Hi, Martha,
You look fabulous!!!! Very fresh and beautiful! I need to figure out how to get the Hallmark Channel. The previews and the view behind the scenes have sure captured my interest. The piece on fitted sheets was so funny ~ I can really relate. I'm going to try that method.
Thank you!

Honestly, I am so sad about the kitchen re-design. As a fellow collector of jadeite, one of my favorite things about the show was the beautiful collection in the background! The new kitchen is lovely, but I will miss those gorgeous green dishes.

Martha, what are the plants in the clay pots in picture #33. Want to do this look at home.

Where did the new kitchen shelves and brackets come from? Love them!!
Posted by: Elaine | September 29th, 2011 at 12:24 am
Joey is the best - one of the most memorable parts of the day I visited the set with my daughter!
Love the Corian sink! Don't love the yellow.....might like it better a tone lighter or darker. But not more intense than it already is - at least in the photos.

Beautiful new kitchen! May it be filled with happy granted fortunes and wonderful new memories.

Hi Martha: I have another stuffed animal organizer that I found in a magazine about 25 years ago. I painted a floor-to-ceiling pole white and then screwed in large cup hooks (yellow and white) at various levels. On each stuffed animal I sewed a large white plastic curtain ring. More than 1 stuffed creature could hang from each hook. The pole stayed secure because of the tight fit between the floor and ceiling...never had any problem with it falling down.

I belong to a group that has dinner parties once a month. Whoevers house it is picks the theme. Mine is next month and the theme is
"everything Martha" Each couple gets a course and they have to bring something in that course to match the theme. I gave them your website and told them to use your ( I said the "your" correctly) imagination. They also have to dress the part so this should be fun!

Loved the segment about folding fitted sheets. I was laughing so loud my husband came in to see if I was ok! So good to see even "Martha" can have a difficult time with that household chore. I think your idea of using only flat sheets is wonderful. Love the new kitchen and can't wait to try the coconut cupcakes. Looked yummy!

Love your show, the extraordinarily thoughtful and thorough staff, and you look wonderful. You do really need to do a very honest show on "dermatological upkeep", because everyone would like to know how to keep one's skin looking so lovely.
I am not inclined toward the "home depot" kitchen. Feels clunky and depressing. Awful color, clunky brackets (not in scale with the shelf sizes). Not modern enough. You are a very modern woman, and this looks ordinary. I'd like your next update to be more modern, more state-of-the art that can be duplicated, more refined.
all the best for the new season. would love your daughter to have a regular segment - maybe with Kevin, some with baby - great things she has found, etc.

Dear Martha,
Ijust love to watch your shows. I wish Icould get your recipes, but when I try Ijust can't get through.I wanted to copy the one you had the young lady make from the Dutch kitchen. And I could not pick it up. I think you are the smartest person on earth. The only thing I don't care for is the yelling and clapping while you are trying to talk.Of course it's great when people clap, but not when you are talking. Thank You,
Anna Pedziwiatr
