A Bleak Autumn at the Farm
I hope you all had a pleasant Thanksgiving. This has been the strangest autumn. The freak late-October snowstorm really made a mess of things and caused hardship to a great many. In November, there was only a bit of fall foliage to enjoy, as Hurricane Irene in late August ripped so many leaves off the trees and then the anthracnose virus turned much of what remained on the trees a drab shade of brown. Quite suddenly, most of the trees in this area are bare and winter is rapidly approaching. Although the start of winter isn’t for about another month, things are looking rather bleak around the farm.
